Administration
Lincoln Center is a great place to learn. We welcome you to visit our school, talk with our staff and explore all we have to offer.
The highly professional staff of Lincoln Center Elementary is dedicated to the work of continuously improving our educational offerings, making our elementary school and our school district one of the best in the state.
We are proud to be an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) World School. Being an IB School means we create and present the absolute best of what elementary education should be. The academic content we offer is aligned with what the state of Minnesota expects, and it goes much farther and deeper than those standards. Our teachers use the best teaching strategies including the inquiry process. We engage all of our students in learning by making deep connections. Our students ask good questions, talk about learning how to learn and explore topics of great interest to them. We know this kind of learning is highly motivating, keeping our students tuned in to school, and creating that inner push to do their very best.
For more information regarding IB or PYP, please go to www.ibo.org or contact Principal Theresa Starkman (tstarkman@sspps.org) or our Primary Years Program Coordinator Diane Tiffany (dtiffany@sspps.org) at (651) 457-9426.
At Lincoln Center students can be involved in a number of other extension activities supporting both academic and socially active efforts. Some of these activities include: Student Council, Math Masters, Peace Jam, GEO Bee, Spelling Bee, Chess Club, instrumental music, safety patrols, classroom buddies, the LC Marathon, the 5th Grade 5K, World Culture Day, and talent shows to name a few.
Lincoln Center Elementary serves the needs of kindergarten through fifth grade children. Our school is also home to a Community Preschool Program and the district’s Early Childhood Special Education Programs. At Lincoln Center, we also provide extra support through our Special Education, ELL and Intervention services. We offer Family Support through our office as well.
Parents and family members are always welcome at Lincoln Center. There are a number of volunteer opportunities including Reading Buddies, projects of the PTA, classroom helpers, library volunteers, or just taking a few minutes and having breakfast or lunch with their children.
Please come in and join us at a building tour so you can see first hand our great academic programs and our wonderful facility.
Sincerely,
Theresa Starkman, Principal
